The story of this place
Meopham is an unusual six-sided smock mill. Its timber-clad upper part stands on a brick base, and the council describes surviving milling machinery inside.
Its date is not settled between the published accounts. Historic England names the Killick brothers and gives 1801, while the council’s visitor page gives about 1820. The lower part also serves a civic purpose, with a council chamber in the base and parish offices beside it.
